I mean to recall that our member Happygoin visits to the police museum regularly. I have it on my list....... I can add that the ceramics and porcelain museum at Sèvres Musée National de Céramique offers free entrance every first Sunday of the month. www.musee-ceramique-sevres.fr/Also Le Petit Palais just off Champs Elysées has free entrance to the permanent collections. Great museum, very versatile: paintings, sculptures, objets d'arts, carpets, all sorts of stuff. And the building is beautiful inside. I liked it very much, and I am not an avid museum-goer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petit_Palais

I've been to almost all of them . This year was our first visit to the Bourdelle and we so enjoyed it. His apts. the atelier and the collection were amazing, especially the scope of his works.
The Marchel LeClerc and the Jean Moulin have a good collection of WWII memorabilia and they show an excellent film on the liberation of Paris. The location is also interesting, atop the Montparnasee station . There is also a lovely garden up there.
The Oriental collection at the Cernuschi is not to be missed.
The only one I didn't particularly enjoy was the Balzac. But if you combine it with a visit to the 16th and the Musee du Vin , and since it's free, I'd go. Pleasant views over Paris from the gardens.
We also really enjoyed the Musee de L'Legion du Honneur. They are some amazing paintings adn it is not entirely devoted to the French Army. There was also a display of British and American objects and portraits.
