We have found two great options for our visit to Paris in September and would appreciate any opinions ... This one looks wonderful but we hadn't been considering the Latin Quarter - don't know much about it. Haven't been students for a very long time and figure we can stop by a jazz club without living in the area. But this place looks scrumptious. www.franceforrent.com/notredameterrace/images.shtmlWe had all but decided on parisperfect - the 7th arr. sounds like a fit for us. They are offering a discount if only we can decide by tomorrow! www.parisperfect.com/champagne/text/paris-romantic-hotel-champagne.htmlThanks to anyone who has some input to offer! We've got our flights and couldn't be more excited!

OMG! That Eiffel Tower apartment is gorgeous! Although, I nearly choked after reading the price tag - ouch.
OK. Putting the price issue aside, I still vote for the ET apartment. While I do like the Latin Quarter one as well, it looks as if your view is limited to the opposite side of the street. Whereas the ET one does not have alot impacting the view and you get the bonus of having the Eiffel Tower in front of you.
Besides, how can you reject an apartment that had an Eiffel Tower lamp base? ;D
PS. What's a telephone shower? I have visions of old Get Smart episodes.

FYI: I stayed in a PP apt. in August. The location of this one is perfect. (pun intended). Just downstairs is a cafe, boulangerie, and an atm. Just a few feet away you will find a wine shop and a supermarket.
Enjoy!

They are both gorgeous! I personally prefer the Latin Quarter for transportation options and walking distance to numerous sites. Also some of our favorite restaurants are neaby and good shopping and cafes. That apt in the 5th is right at the edge of the 6th and St Germain

They are both beautiful apartments. I like the one on the 7th as I need a walk in shower. But both look very comfortable and attractive.
How much of a discount will Paris Perfect give? Their prices are in euros what the other agency lists in dollars. So there is a substantial difference in price.
Paris perfect is also an agency that Grace Joan uses frequently and highly recommends.
Mez, a telephone shower is one you hold in your hand to use. It is not fixed to the wall. In some cases, it is high enough that before taking it out, you can stand under it but the shower head is generally small.

Well, we've taken the plunge...decided on the Paris Perfect "Champagne" apartment. They're giving a 15% discount so that's good news. The price is steep but it's a once in a lifetime trip and we've saved up for it... Yikes - now it's real!!! Thanks for everyone's advice, it was very helpful.
