Well, le zoo de Vincennes may not have been a major attraction, but it was a nice one for people with small children . It has now closed for a very long period, they talk about 5 years (which in France means that one should expect 7 years MIN ) . It has been opened in 1936 and is in desperate need of renovation .

It was indeed a nice attraction for those with small children. We took our two boys here this summer. It was a good size to walk around and the animals seemed much more accessible than in our huge zoo here in Edinburgh. It did seem a little run down and I would agree that it was in desperate need of renovation. Just a shame it will take so long!

I'm glad they are closing the place down. The rats there were large than some of the mammals on display. I hope that they make it into a lovely place for both the animals and future families.

Last I was there, about one third of the zoo was already closed. It looked as though they were going to do the work while keeping the zoo open.
Where are the animals going in the meanwhile?

They are being dispatched to other zoos . Only the giraffes will stay in Vincennes .
