Well, I think we may have set some sort of world record today!
1. An eclair au chocolat at Stohrer. 2. An Isphahan, an Origine, a Carrement Chocolat, a Tarte au Cafe, and six macarons (chestnut & green tea; hazelnut & white truffle; chocolate; coffee; caramel with fleur de sel; passionfruit & milk chocolate) at Pierre Herme. 3. A quarter pound of truffes and 2 pounds of bonbons au chocolat at Jean-Charles Rochoux.

Oh Truffaut, you are making me salivate. It is a good thing that I will be able to taste all those goodies at PH next week. Otherwise, I would be in the funk while preparing for our Thanksgiving dinner! Moi, I'll start with my favorite Ispahan but I think we will do it a few tastes at a time.
Keep posting all the wonderful eating you've been doing in our fair city of lights!

(drops to my knees and bows down)
That's more chocolate and sugar than I could eat in a week.
(by the way, one of the happy surprises I've had to living here is that, with so much walking -- and a four-story house -- I can eat eclairs and religeuses and mille-feuilles and STILL LOSE WEIGHT. Only problem is that none of my trousers fit any more.)

Tru..you are my hero!
I was actually thinking about that today......brought about by Thanksgiving when we usually have some snacks at home before getting to the restaurant..and then the three or four courses is just too much. (when you dine at home you can postpone dessert!) Reminded me of how in Paris there are never enough meals to get everything in...let alone the sweets!
Good job!

And then last night was dinner at Astier with the amazing cheese platter. I must point out, however, that those other things earlier in the day were in the company of my partner and his father, sister and brother-in-law. But we did do a lot of cross-taste-testing.

Truffy, looks like this magical cookbook isn't available in the States yet...wanna pack an extra suitcase full of them to sell to the OPF bakers when you get home?
