Just as an FYI -- on the first Saturday of each month, the American Library in Paris (on Avenue de General Camou, just off of Avenue de Bourdonnais (sorry, the first name was a typo!), between Quai Branly and Ecole Militaire) has a book sale (Today was their first day!) selling off extras and old books, all for the benefit of the library, a non-profit entity.
Books are 1 or 2 euros, and there's a wide range of topics available -- mostly in English, but a few in French. There are also some magazines, videos, and other miscellaneous items available. Titles are on offer for kids and adults.
We loaded up a big bag of books for all of us...and we'll look forward to going next month, too!

Sunshine, they are also very happy to received any of your old books. When we moved in August we brought them ten boxes of books... they were completely thrilled, as was I. A real win-win situation.

This sounds like a really good deal, especially given how expensive English language books often are in Paris. Happy reading!

Joan and I are having lunch with Denise and her friend that Saturday in December at Les Cocottes. Something I might do while D and her friend do the ET thing. It is in our 'hood! I will be like old times for me. Used to spend a lot of time there with my kids when we were homesick!
Thank you for the info, Sunshine - might see you there!
