Anne, I am so happy that you found your boots!! And I agree with Jo, you wear them with your skinny jeans and show those young girls how it's DONE!

I just got in to the office at 2:45 PM local time. I took my teen amie to the mall. I had told her previously that my sources told me that all the girls in Paris were wearing skinny jeans with flat boots. She flatly refused to consider them, saying her Uggs were going with her.
Well, I don't know what changed her mind, but we spent the entire day today at the mall and she's outfitted in wool leggings and several long sweaters, skinny jeans, a pea coat and flat black suede boots. She looks like da bomb! Of course, she's a size 2 petite. She'd look good in ANYTHING. Ah, I remember when...
Anyway, thank you everyone for all the fashion advice. I'm sure she's going to be the cause of major traffic snarls on the Champs Elysées next week ;D

Any purchases for you Happy? What finery will you be sporting next to "da bomb"! No more talk of skinny jeans please!!! Thanks to Anne and her onion ring mention in her London report I developed a craving...hadn't had in ages!!!! So today , after a tour of Yankee Stadium(2nd to the last day of tours! of the "old" one ) my friend and I went to the Yankee Tavern and I had to have a side of onion rings!!!(the skinnier breadcrumb variety) Not to mention a chili/cheese hot dog! No jeans in boots look for me any time soon!

Oh I love having someone else to blame...don't you guys??? It makes you feel so much better about yourself! ;D geordy, I bought a very nice Calvin Klein dove grey long-sleeved stretchy tee shirt. It should wash up nicely and dry quickly for repeated wearings. Also an Anne Klein trench coat...I do love the cut of her stuff...oh, and we each got a pair of leopard skin velvet gloves... Okay, I'll look like da bomb too PS. I'll have to get the teen amie to post pictures. I'm just not that technologically functional

Phread - I already own a lot more than 3 pairs of boots, though only 2 of them were bought this year......quite recently, in fact. The new ones are not flats, even though the heels are fairly comfortable. However, I wouldn't wear them if I was planning to do lots of walking around. After seeing the photo of Anne's boots, which are flats, I became greedy (more than usual )and I considered buying another pair. I was shopping today and tried on a number of pairs, but I didn't find a perfect pair.

Just teasing ladies....the jeans in boots look hasn't been my look for years...by choice mostly. Even at my "fighting weight" it has not really been "right" for me for awhile. But Anne..if you were suggesting you might look somewhat sausage-like...not a chance!!! I'm sure your boots are very happy with you! Speaking of boots..after I wasn't working full-time and mostly wearing flat sandals or sneakers or otherwise comfortable shoes for jobs standing on my feet..... when I tried to put on high boots, even flat ones, no go...I finally bought one of those boot shoe horns last year and manged one pair but not the others yet...haven't tried this season. And it is the getting the foot into the shoe part that is the problem. That ever happen to anyone else? I haven't tried a new pair yet. And Anne....those onion rings were good!!!! As was the dog..!!!! Happy those sound like great choices for you.....can't wait to hear your adventures as "da bombs" take on Paris next week! ;D

I'm with you, Geordy -- I'm what is tactfully called 'topheavy' (not overweight, just very curvy!)-- and if I wear skinny jeans and high boots, I look like I'm going to topple over! I have some gorgeous boots (found a pair of Etienne Aigner riding boots similar to Anne's for a song just before we let the US), but I wear them with an A-line skirt and tights...keeps me from looking like a tomato on a skewer!
Keep looking for boots, by the way -- I have a very high instep, so I have a hard time finding boots that fit, too...they ARE out there!
