But Gitte, my love. You live on the continent and can easily visit a place in Europe by driving. We in the USA must spend $$$ to fly. So saying that, you make choices, to visit different parts of one country(my choice, France) BUT if money were not a problem. I would go any and everywhere.

Gitte,
All you need to do is wander outside the (ever so lovely) confines of Paris and you will find such a great assortment of towns. I am sure you have been to far more than I will ever get to, but we made the most of our trip in June. Planning to return someday to see more, and always open to new ideas.

And Mossie, it's very, very easy to travel to many of the plus beaux villages -- there are many of your countrymen who are far older and have far more difficulty traveling than you (I'm sure of it!) who find their way to the Loire and Dordogne (and the sud Charente, eh Becky?) on a very regular basis.
After having lived in Paris for a month during our move, we are much happier in a village out in the countryside.
Try it, Gitte -- you may never spend more than a few days in Paris again! (shock, horror, gasp)
