Hello everyone,
Just wanted to post here my thoughts on my studio apartment in the 5th where I was for the month of September

The owner and well reknown artist Jacques Seguin has 3 apartments in the one block on Rue Lacepede which is off Rue Monge in the 5th.

I took the studio apartment located on the 6th floor with a lift. The entry is very secure, you need a code for the street entry, then a lift entry, then a lift code.

The booking part was easy, via his website, and he only asks for a downpayment via paypal of Euros 200 followed by the balance when you arrive or you can pay it in installments depending on how many weeks you are booking. I chose to pay upfront on the day which was ok by me.

The Studio Apartment is quite delightful and wonderful for one person... I'm not sure how two people would go in it, but of course it can accommodate two people in the one bed. I'm pleased there was just me in the apartment

So, you have an entrance hall, then a small bathroom, then into the kitchenette, and open space that can be a entertaining area as well as your bedroom. It has two french doors which open out to a small balcony overlooking the Jardin des Plantes and the rooftops of Paris.... there is a wonderful feeling of openess when you look out.

Rue Lacepede is located just off Rue Monge, where they have markets at Place Monge every second day almost.... and it is very close to Rue Des Ecoles and Blvd.St.Germain where I walked to every day which lead me off in different directions.

Transport is very local... Place Monge Metro, or the bus routes off Rue Monge or Rue Linne...

All in all, I would definitely recommend Jacques website for you to have a look at.... All his apartments are clean, tidy and offer such wonderful amenities... I'll definitely be returning next year!

Oh, I remember when I first looked at your apartment link while you were still deciding where to stay...it seems so long ago.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time there. That rooftop view looks wonderful.

PS. Does the place have air-con?

Convenient for Lil' Marge, as well!

oh I'm so pleased you liked it!!

No air conditioning in the studio apartment Mez - not sure about the others - but there is a fan and with the french doors open there is a lovely breeze that filters through... of course there is heating in the studio - 3 lots of those radiators that warm up - very nice and snuggly too!

No security or cleaning fees - everything is included in the set price... I would love to recommend it to everyone

Jacques is delightful and a tad easy on the eyes too to deal with... he has his artwork displayed in his apartments...

Good news! Today I heard back from lovely Jacques that he will hold the Studio Apartment for me for the month of September next year!!!! I am very very happy about this!!!.... only 9 months, 2 weeks to go!!!

ooh some more exciting news!! my beautiful son will be in Paris for 5 nights in February and I have now secured my little slice of Paris for him... he will stay in the studio and get to meet some of my lovely french friends while he is there... AND wait, there's more!!!

I have now booked and paid for my flight to Paris in September and secured my studio apartment with Jacques as you know, even paid for travel insurance! so, all there is to do now, is save my pennies and let the countdown begin..... today it's, 226 more sleeps!! Yippeeeeee

Had dinner with a friend last night at Metisse on the Upper West Side.
Had a starter of like a "begger's purse" spinach, eggplant, goat cheese in a pastry "bundle" served with a side salad. Main...Coquille St. Jacques. Friend had escargot and moules frites. Warm baguette was served with the same butter as the escargot..Yum! Great meal on a frigid night!

Dreamt of Paris...29 more sleeps!!
