Apologies everyone!
I am starting to get all my paris info together, so I am going to inundate you with questions...
I saved this from a newspaper article: The Galleries Lafayette is a stylish department store in Paris. By taking the escalator to the top floor and then walking up the single flight of stairs from the restaurant, you can walk out on to the roof terrace and get a splendid view over Paris.
Is this still true and does anyone know where this staircase is?

:)Hi again Mez. I think you are following my itinerary! ;DLOL Yes you can still go on the roof at Galleries Lafayette. We went after the fashin show on a Friday. I think you take the escalator near rue MOGADOR but I will check next week. Anyway you go up to the cafe and then continue up to the roof. It is signed well. BTW the cafe is very reasonably priced and they do a good pot of tea! Here is the link to my report of that day. http://www.ourparisforum.com./index.cgi?board=reports&action=display&thread=2085 Denise Love from England

Don't worry, I think you'll find it okay. Hubby and I went up there one of our first trips and didn't have a problem finding it at all. I can't remember exact directions, just look for the escalator and the stairs are near the top. It mustn't have been hidden, or we surely wouldn't have found it!
