Hi all.
Just wanted to check that English tours are still offered on Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday at 11:30 am & 2:30 pm.
I tried searching online, but could not find the info.
Also, assuming I don't make a guided tour, is the audio tour available the entire time the buidling is open to the public?
Thanks in advance, Mez.

Yes, the schedule for English tours is still the same : www.operadeparis.fr/Visites/Palais-Garnier/Visiter.en.aspNote that visits are hold every days during summer holidays and shorter school holidays too . I don't remember when exactly you are coming, just tell me your dates and I will tell you whether these are school holidays . They don't mention the audiotour on this website . There are no visits on afternoons of shows (then it closes at 1pm) and on "exceptional events" days . You can inquire about these exceptional days between 2 and 1 days before your planned visit by calling 0892.89.90.90 (Mon to Fri between 9am and 6pm, Sat between 9am and 1pm) . This is a special number, I think that you have to call it with a French phone .

:)Hi Mez....yes we took the tour in july. Here is a link to the report. http://www.ourparisforum.com./index.cgi?board=reports&action=display&thread=2065 Well worth it. I had heard that the auditorium was often closed for rehersals in the afternoon so we caught the 11.30 tour. Denise Love from England

I would suggest you go to the ticket office well ahead of time for the guided tour in English; we were there only ½ hr. early and it was full. The ticket office has been moved around to the left side of the building (as you face the opera) and there was no vestiare and no evidence of an audio guide. What they will tell you when you go to the ticket window is if the auditorium will be open.
