Why wait - when the right offer is within reach ?
So I chose this perfect little studio in Rue Caulaincourt on the north side of the Montmartre hill. As some of you perhaps know, I went to see it last month and even if small, the space is used in such an efficient way that the studio actually feels quite spacious. It is in a modern building, the apt. is superclean, the kitchen and bathroom are entirely new - and there is a FREE telephone for European stationary phones, meaning that I will save the usual 300-something euros I spend on cell phone calls Also it has free internet (and even a PC), plus dishwasher, washing/drying machine and a balcony. Drinks, anyone ?
3 weeks for 1200 euros
I would also have loved the other place in Rue Taine in the 12th arr. which I could have had for 1450 euros. That one is very big 46 m2 and stunningly beautiful, but saving the extra 250 euros will pay for my plane ticket and taxis to/from CDG airport.
Darcy is renting the beautiful apartment in the 12th arr. so we will get a report from her. And I still think it is one of the best deals you can make (550 euros per week, minus discount for longer stays), if you want to get away from the crowds a bit.
The studio I chose in Rue Caulaincourt looks exactly in real life as in these photos, no phoney wide-angle or colourful Photoshop-embellishment
It is for rent with several agencies:
LODGIS
ABRITEL
PARISATTITUDE
I contacted Alain Eliptiya, the owner, directly through Abritel and got the offer. As you can see, it always pays to deal directly with the owner, because you save the agency fee. Alain has asked for a 500 euros pre-payment. So I ordered a crossed check with my bank and will send it to him tomorrow (recommended letter, to make sure he gets it). August 2009 is already fully booked, according to his associate/partner who met me to show me the apt.
