I am looking for an apartment for a week in January in the 9th for two adults, three kids. I have scoured many of the websites mentioned here and on tripadvisor, but would love to hear some advice from you guys. Thanks for the help.

Is there a reason why you're limiting your search to the 9th? I would think that you would have many more options if you looked beyond just one arrondissment...

We want to be within walking distance to a specific synagouge that happens to be located in the 9th on rue Richer.

 Have you contacted Gail at PerfectlyParis? We are renting an apartment from her in the 9th for two weeks in March. This one has two bedrooms with double beds and does not have a sofa bed. However, she has some others in the 9th and may be able to advise you about walking distance to your synagogue. I would e-mail her and not simply look at her site. She has indicated that several of her apartments are walking distance to each other even when in different districts.
