Hi all. pantheon.monuments-nationaux.fr/en/bdd/page/visites is telling me "visits of the upper areas take place from 1st April to 31 October". Are the 'upper areas' where I would need to head for the views? I imagine the answer is yes, but I want to check. As crazy as it sounds, I don't ever recall even seeing the Pantheon - which I know is not true. I probably should have said that I've never recognised it when I had seen it. ;D Thanks

I particularly like the view from the Pantheon (yes, you do need the "upper areas" for that, although it's not nearly as long a slog as climbing the Notre Dame towers, e.g.). You will recognize it when you see it (round, while columns, off in the distance beyond and above the Luxembourg gardens, visible from much of Paris because it's on a slight rise).

As well as enjoying the upper views, be sure to go down to the crypts. Very interesting and great atmospheric lighting.

Unfortunately, I won't be enjoying any views I'm not there until late November. The crypts do look interesting and the interior looks amazing. I think I may leave it on the 'do if you have time pile' for this visit.

If you find yourself in Luxembourg garden, it's only a few blocks above it (can't explain which direction without looking at a map, however).

It's a walk eastwards, slightly uphill .
