I know what a guest is but what or who is an "invisible user.? Would appreciate some explanation. Perhaps one was posted while we were away for three weeks and I missed it.
Thanks.

If you go to your profile and click "modify" it will give you the option to "remain invisible." So, that's a user who either chose that option, or didn't realize what it was - but it's a member who's logged in without having their name show up on the list (I have no idea what happens if they want to post something . . .)

Thanks Becky. I am OK with that. But I was concerned about hackers not that we post credit cardsor things like that but it felt like having spies.

Thanks for asking the question, Holger, I've wondered what it was too. Never thought it would be a member.

Remember that the forum is open to anyone who cares to come along and read it...you don't have to be a member to read, so anyone with a computer is able to read every word we type.
Anyone who's not logged in shows up as a guest...which would anyone not in our list of 100+ registered members.

Thanks, Becky, for your explanation. (BTW, How did you figure that out?) Maybe one day when I'm feeling a bit adventurous and mischievous ;D, I'll modify my profile so that I can temporarily appear as an invisible user and then try to post to see what happens.

OOOhhh!!! I am so mysterious! Sorry folks - it was me. I was having internet issues, so I went in and changed my profile so I couldn't see anyone's signatures (in the hope of being able to download faster). I must have selected to hide myself by mistake. And looking a bit closer I have no idea what I did with my avatar photo either - bizarre!! In answer to Becky, nothing happened at my end. I was still able to post as normal. I was just playing the mysterious woman.

Everybody hit it right on the head. I have the capability of changing the "invisible" feature, but choose not to exercise that option. I figure that if "invisible" is chosen in a profile, the user must have some reason for having chosen it.
