That sounds like an Israeli version of "Home Alone". Hey......I hope you guys don't get the impression that all Israelis are that dumb.

How can you lose a 3 yr old! Didn't they notice when they buckled up the kids? Weird I thought the same thing when I read that article this morning! Granted, I only have 3 children, but it seems I would have noticed an empty seat, or figured out she was missing when I went to buckle her in! I would think with 5 kids, a mom would be in the habit of a constant headcount! Don't worry Shoesy, I know it's not a reflection of Israelis as a whole!

willow, Some years ago, our neighbors were wandering through the Louvre when they realized they had lost their 5 year old son in a packed gallery. As the panic of such an event set in, the father looked up and could see Museum staffers running in the next room. As he raced over, he saw that his crying child was successfully dodging capture by concerned employees. When he called out, his boy dashed over, and when asked what he was doing replied " you always say don't let a stranger take you, so I was keeping away from them."

I thought it was absolutely frightful. Surely when you have that many kids with you, you do a head-count every couple of minutes? How could they be SEATED and not notice she was missing?

I am one of six kids so my parents definitly were in a habit of making sure we were all there and accounted for. At times, my older siblings were put in charge of the younger ones. The three older sibs would be partnered with the three younger. I really don't think any of us were lost at any point. So it definitly surprises and astounds me that someone can lose a child!

The only possible thing I can think of is that when they were going through customs, Mom thought Dad had her, and Dad thought Mom had her...but it still doesn't explain how you didn't notice you had an empty seat when everyone was on the plane....
Wonder what there is to the story that's missing? There almost always is a missing piece in a story like this...

And she is only 3 and must have identified herself and knew where they were going or how else could have the parents been so quickly located.
