Wake up???
I have been watching religiously throughout...I look terrible. I've been sleeping about 4-5 hours a night and I am soooo tired!
And I want to know how to get one of those stuffed lions - does anyone know if you can buy them?

Unfortunately one cannot buy them .
Those lions are the advertising mascot/symbol of LCL (Le Crédit Lyonnais), the bank which sponsors the tour . Maybe they hand a few to spectators during the Tour, or one has to know someone who works for the bank or to be a good client of it ...

BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP ;D ;D They are showing the most WONDERFUL aerial photos from some pittoresque, mediaeval town ! Also they will be cycling through Versailles. The cyclists are now about 125 km. from Paris. Git git git git.............. Turn that TV set on, PRONTO !!! (We are cracking open the champagne here in DK !! WOO-HOO !! Little Carlos may be a Spaniard technically, but today he is the apple of everyone's eye in DK !! Go go go, Carlos !!)

I have watched EVERY day -- the sport channel VERSUS on our cable here has brought me live coverage every day, with re-broadcasts in the afternoon, and a long recap at 8p every evening.
I haven't watched every minute of every stage, but it's been very easy to keep up with the scenery and the riders. (Can't say as I find them sexy -- I'm struck every year by the sheer power and determination of these guys -- tightly wound coils of muscle and sinew, driven by nothing more than the desire to stand on the podium. )
We've visited many of the areas that the Tour goes through, and some of those mountains are bad enough to drive up with the assistance of an internal-combustion engine -- I simply cannot fathom even walking up them, let alone pedaling a bicycle.
I'm echoing Gitte's hopes that this finish indeed is clean...it would be nice to see the Tour regain the respect it so richly deserves.

The cheek of it!.........The final stage, placed on a lonely distant channel (we had to search for) just starting now at 2.30pm! How dare British TV be so uneducated. It's on now and i am outta here to watch it. ;D

Well, I think they've only had 2 positive drug tests this year, which is alot less than previous years. Hopefully next year there will be none, but the damage is done...at least 2 major sponsors are pulling out and that's a shame. I can't say I find the riders personally appealing either. When I heard the other week that the mountain riders are typically only 55-65kgs, I thought, how skinny must they be? Even with muscles, it's not very exciting. 91km to go...

62 km. to go and [glow=yellow,2,300]KING CARLOS [/glow](the former-Spaniard-now-Dane) is going to be on the TOP OF THE PODIUM !!! And the tour helicopter just flew towards and zoomed in on The Grand Ol' Lady !!! The cyclists are now in Issey-les-Moulineaux, just south of the 16th arr.

And I do truly hope that Oscar Pereira makes a full recovery after his nasty tumble -- he's wonderful fun to watch.
(He went over the guardrail on a descent, tumbled through the underbrush, and ended up on the pavement on the lower part of a switchback with a broken shoulder and broken leg -- fortunately no one else 'tripped' over him when he landed -- could have been a huge disaster!)
Part of me wants to see the final stage in Paris, but a part of me wants nowt to do with the crowds. I think I'd like to see a stage out in the campagne.
