I am a single lady who will be travelling to Paris alone. Is it safe to walk around alone at night? And what's the best way to get from CDG to my hotel. And what should I do while I'm in Paris? Oh...and btw, is the Mona Lisa still at the Lorvue museum?

Hey, you forgot: What hotel should I stay in? What arrondisement will I like? Is it true that all Parisians hate Americans??
(sorry, couldn't resist!)
Thanks for the link Phread...love the blog so far - keep it up!

Yes if only those French Lorvre people would bring Mona by the door so we wouldn't have to see all that other nudies stuff

Why stop with bringing Mona to the door of the Louvre. If they would just load up big trucks with only the very best of the art, and drive in circles around place Vendome, then we could just all stay at the Ritz and see everything from our windows without ever having to interract with the French!

Oh good. Now my sensitive pre-teens won't be exposed to all that nudie stuff...

The Mona Lisa only attacks Americna tourists brandishing tripods and wearing white knee high socks with khaki shorts. Oopps, that's me, I'd better bring body guards!

Can I kvetch here for a minute? Is it me or does anyone else get peeved when someone says they were "lucky" enough to sneak a picture of the Mona Lisa before they got yelled at. I'll bet they're the same people who blat their way through ND while a service is going on. There. Thanx for listening.

Talking about safety in Paris, I think that after the event at Gare du Nord, yesterday the RATP should bring back the poinçonneur to replace the turnstyle. ;D
It would also help to reduce unemployement and solve the jumping over without a ticket scenario.

I'm afraid to ask...what's a poinconneur? Does it work something like a guillotine only lower?
