Demarais, the photo with the senior gentleman (Mister Demarais ?) sitting on the bench in the square with Restaurant Mets du Roy - where is that ? I thought I had seen it before, so I googled for it. Is it in Saint Denis, across from the basilique ?

The little pirate is in the park by the chapel expiatore. And I wonder if the bent over scam artist is the same one Laidback saw hotfooting it across the street!

Awesome photos, everyone! People watching is one of my DH's favorite pasttimes. I'll have to contribute a few pieces from our own collection when I get a chance.

Demarais you have some intriguing px. We know about St. Denis, Pl. Louis XVI and the Pont des Arts but would you identify the other locations? They torment my curiosity by looking so familiar but I just can't place many of them. The markets all look so much alike from a close up.
Gitte, thanks for labeling yours as they are usually very interesting but practically unknown.

Your wish is my command! All labelled now Thanks so much, I have never visited the Passy or Enfants Rouges markets. Now if Darcy will join in I will be able to sleep better!

I love the photo in Rue Bonaparte - the smooching couple at the back while you have that over-the-top figure in front is amazing.
Who or what is that? I honestly can't tell if it's a mannequin or a real person...

You know guys this thread made me think of all my Paris photos I lost off our computer a few months back. Our computer had a major upset and they were all obliterated. When I return this year I will be printing my favourites and putting them in an actual album.I think we lost over 500 photos in total of Paris. Thank you all so much for sharing, there really are some gems among them. Only 9 more weeks to go. Can't wait.

That's a real loss! I always fret about possibilities like that, so generally have a disk or two with copies (also, I like putting them onto various computers to play as a screensaver, so have to put them onto disks to transfer to work etc.) I guess you'll just have to go back until you have 500 more . . . .

You know guys this thread made me think of all my Paris photos I lost off our computer a few months back. Our computer had a major upset and they were all obliterated. The best investment I have made this year is an external hard drive. I religiously back up once a week (it's preset) and no longer worry about losing things in the event my laptop dies on me.

This thread is great, loving it! TipAny time I have new images, I always either e-mail them to myself and save the emails or upload them on to Photobucket then if for any reason the computer packs up on me they are still retrievable.

Oh dear, it's so painful to lose photos due to a crash. I backup everything to an external hard drive and I save my best photos in online albums. I use Shutterfly and really like it.

I recognise the picture of the old lady bending over! My girlfriend and I spotted her on the Pont des Arts (where I think the photo is as well) at the end of December 2007. My better half likes a good argument, so seeing the woman opened some daft debate about homelessness in France.
She also refused to believe me that the lady in question may be a scam artists. So people, is she?

Well, either she is a scam artist or there was a terrible outbreak of some deforming disease in Paris because we saw at least 6 bent over women in various tourist parts of Paris all on the same day!
Laidback recalls seeing one of them trying to cross the street when the light changed and she had to straighten up and hot foot it over the road!!
Yes , that is Pont des Arts bridge
