Hi all.
The building that I work in was right next door to the venue for the Opening Mass of World Youth Day.
To say it was a noisy affair is an understatement.
I thought you might enjoy some photos of what large scale event management and mass movement of 'pilgrims' looks like.
And yes, I am lucky enough to work in a building with such fabulous views. ;D
These photos are from Monday - the day before.
And here are today's pictures. While it looks empty in some places, there was a cap of 150, 000 allowed in. As I left work, the nearest train station was telling people the event was full.

WYD08 will mark the first visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to Australia.
Through the WYD08 experience, young people from throughout the world will make a pilgrimage in faith, meet, and experience the love of God.
World Youth Day is an invitation from the Pope to the youth of the world to celebrate their faith around a particular theme. Everyone is welcome to attend.
