Hi everyone, been gone for awhile. Many things have occurred - Failed my finals exam, my dad had emergency bypass and I'm pregnant! Its been an awful first 6 months of the year with IVF + exams, then my dad. But I am now safely in my 2nd trimester - 20 weeks! I have to sit my exam again in 6 weeks, but at least I don't have IVF and the emotional turmoil that goes with that to deal with.
I have been scouring the internet for french baby gear, aside from petit bateau, does anyone have any other suggestions.... my aunt lives in paris, so i can order things to be sent to her and she just mails it out to me.
BTW I am having a boy!
(I also made it to NYC and stayed in Chelsea.)

I'm sure you'll do better on your exams without the emotional distractions you were dealing with before. Happy news about the baby!!

Kurgy, congratulations on your little one. Bet it gave your dad a real lift to know the next generation is on the way! Tell him he'll need to be fit to be a granddad!

Wow, this is great - don't know how I missed this thread before! I agree, you will find wonderful baby/toddler items in Paris. I remember going into some shops in the general area of rue du Bac with a friend who was looking for things of that type, and really they had lovely items (must admit, however, that it makes me a bit ill to see shops selling "Baby Dior" and the like ).

I'm with you Becky. I look at the Baby Dior things and Bonpoint and think "who'd spend that kind of money for babies who outgrow them so fast?". I go to rue Saint Placide in the 6th arrondisement and look for the sales on children's and baby shops there. I've always come out with fun french clothes that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Of course, given how quickly babies grow anyone who really did want that type of baby things probably could find loads at consignment shops!
