Currently watching a Men's semi final match...it is 10:15 here and 1:15 there(match began at 1:00) so obviously not live....no postings of the winner please! I love watching tennis but of course also love the views of Paris they show! Other than national pride , I wish the Americans had done better because then they might do "up close and personal stories" and follow them about Paris! Particularly when there is a young player who has never been to Paris they tend to do fun to watch stories! Esp. with the girls..the shopping..oh la la! ;D

They no longer show any tennis here on free-to-air TV unless it's the Aust Open and I miss it Everything is on pay tv, which I don't have - grrr. Hope it was a good match Geordy!

Mez..the Australian Open is the one they don't show here..on regular TV...I guess because of the time of year..and the time difference. not reported on too much either. Scores in the NYTimes of course but not having gotten the Times around that time I had to look up the results on line! The other slams,,,basically just a semi or two(more so if there are Americans left! ) and the finals on regular TV. Not such a great match yesterday but the woman's final is on at 9:00am today, men's tomorrow.

We watched part of a match being shown on a huge screen at the Hotel de Ville a few hours ago (don't know much about tennis - guy in bright green with headband seemed to be doing well?) Lots of people hanging out on a nice afternoon and applauding good shots - but while I can see that there's lots of skill involved, it really isn't something I understand so we went wandering off along the Seine instead. Nice way to spend our last afternoon in Paris!

Becky - I agree that a stroll along the Seine beats a tennis game any day. So it was your "last afternoon in Paris"?

Yes, we're here for three days before returning home - fun to introduce the niece and nephews, at least some of whom undoubtedly will return!

Crushing Federer as if he was a dried out lemon........ Are we witnessing a new Björn B. ?? And shoesy, you are SO wrong !! I spent all the summers of the early 80'ies GLUED to the TV to watch BB !! A stroll along the Seine you can always have, but world history events make an impression to last a lifetime ! My only concern is that this guy is Español, not French !! BTW, rumour has it that he is sending VERY soft eyes towards DANISH tennis darling, Caroline Wozniacki !

Unfortunately you're wrong, my dear Gitte. I CANNOT always have a stroll along the Seine .
