Hi all, Thanks for your great information. I feel overwhelmed! I'm really enjoying reading all the threads on Paris. I have 4 days (ONLY) to organize and I want to see it all! Please pass on your tips, sights to see, transportation ideas, things to avoid- whatever you think I need to know. My friend and I love to walk. I will read with pleasure. I'm staying in the 11th arrondissment.

Given you love to walk, I would say get up early one morning, pick up a croissant on your way out down the street and start to just wander around and soak it all in. Stop for a coffee and decide on your next plan. I think some of the best moments we had in paris were when we just wandered around and got 'lost' in the streets, it's amazing what you discover. Stop and sit on the lawns around the Louvre, that's very relaxing and a good break for tired feet.
Once you have done that of course, there's always the Arc (would be great a night, we were only able to climb during the day as there was a strike) etc!

Paris is definitely the right city for you since it's very "walkable." Of course there are places you'll probably want to visit that will require some form of public transportation, but you can defnitely see a lot just by walking from one place to another, and while you're doing it, you'll surely be charmed by a lot more than just the major tourist sights.
