So I know I have 230 days to still plan this and work out the details, but I'm interested in trying some different wines without breaking the bank on this next trip.
Both my travel partner and myself are novices as far as wine is concerned but we'd like to learn a bit more!
What are some good places to either take a class (in english preferably as my friend does not know French) or maybe a winebar?
Any suggestions are welcome!

I've had this on my lists for awhile but have not gotten around to it yet. www.o-chateau.com/select-your-tasting.phpA nice inexpensve wine bar in the Marais is La Tartine on rue Rivoli. Willi's is the most famous but is more expensive

I have heard about o-chateau, but totally forgotten it! Thanks for the link!
And La Tartine looks to be nearby our apartment (Rue Aubriot) so we can stumble home afterwards!

Willow, La Dernière Goutte, a wine shop owned by American Juan Sanchez in the 6th arrondissement near the rue de Buci, offers Saturday wine tastings. We've been there in the past, although it's been awhile. He specializes in good-value reds. La Dernière Goutte6, rue Bourbon le Château Paris 75006 Ph: 01 43 29 11 62 You can check the schedule closer to your travel date on the following website: www.pattylurie.com/html/goutte.htmlJo

My friend really liked th O-Chateau options, and quite frankly so do I! I will continue looking, but I think we may book something with O-Chateau as long as they are open during that week!
La Dernière Goutte would be great if they would have a different schedule. Saturday is our last evening so as fun as that would be, it's probably not the best idea to imbibe!
