The www.parisperfect.com website has pictues of views from all their apartment listings. They are pretty spectacular! The new one, "Meursault", that I will be in for this fall ,is not on the website at this time as it is not finished. I have the temporary website with the magnificent views of all of Paris from the 8th floor. Probably a month before finished. Good discounts on their places, now and there will be moe come fall.... Enjoy

Hi again - forgot to say - the Abbessess apt does have a lift but its tiny tiny one at a time tiny. Maybe this is the norm? Twenty paces from Metro too AND balcony with view of tops of Sacre Coeur.

www.allure-apart.com/Thanks to grndma, Montparnasse has now reached a higher status in my Paris scorebook !! "Luxueux appartement pour 2 à 4 personnes de 46 mètres carrés avec balcon et terrasse au 9ème étage avec ascenseur. Vue panoramique sur tout Paris." And not an unreasonable price at all, going from 750€-1050€ depending on the season, and negotiable for longer stays.

The Allure apartments do seem attractive and very well priced. I also like the fact that they do not require half down but instead a reasonable deposit. Just wish that the apartment descriptions were more detailed.

I'm amazed that a view is so extraordinarily important when choosing an apartment. Do any of you ever leave the apartment when you're in Paris or do you spend all your time with your nose stuck up against the window gazing at all the places you could actually be visiting instead?

I have to agree with Doug on this one transport convenience and amenities are so much more important to me personally as a view. There are good views wherever you are walking or busing.

I agree that there are things more important than a view, but if you can have a nice view in addition to all the other things, then why not?

I would never choose an apartment because of the view, but a view can be nice if the apartment fits every other requirement. The apartment we rented on my first trip was on the Ile St Louis...we woke every morning to a picture perfect view of the Seine. It was magical. But honestly, since then I haven't given one thought of the view when selecting an apartment...

You guys are a bunch of nitwits........... where is your sense of poetry ? There is NOTHING compared to entering a bright topfloor apartment after a long day of walking - relaxing high above the tourists, the noise and the traffic. Kick off your sweaty Eccos, open a nice bottle of something, take a deep satisfied breath and then feel that you are flying high above the TOP of PARIS ! And imagine all the lit-up monuments you can spot in the dark, sparkling like costly gems in a jewelcase. I regret not having brought a pair of binoculars last year, when I stayed in RooftopVista - and even without them the view was unbelievable ! This is what made Kate and Leo climb up in the bow of the Titanic ! And don't tell me you didn't get all wet-eyed from that scene..... >>> But honestly, since then I haven't given one thought of the view when selecting an apartment...<<< tsk, tsk, tsk - shaking head in disbelief.......

gitte, What is the English equivalent of this Danish term "nitwit?" To quote Mohamed Ali "I don't know what it means, but if it's good I must be it."

I really have to side with Gitte on this one. We stay for fairly extended visits which probably means spending more time in the apt. than those who are on a tighter schedule, and it is such a spiritual lift to be able to look out on an inspiring view rather than a tiny so-called "court yard"which is actually an airshaft housing the poubelles, or across a tiny alley at other apts. looking back at you. Paris has such great light and if you are 4 floors up or higher you can see how it changes from morning to evening in different conditions. Soul food in the truest sense.

:)Dear Holger... The allure apartments have video tours. If you click the little cameras and and then click "full screen" on the bottom right, they take you around. Enjoy Denise
