Hi all... Just finished Joanne Harris' sequel to Chocolat: The Girl With No Shadow. It takes place in Paris and has some nice descriptions of places. For those in the us...at costco there's a paperback by Bryce Corbett: A Town Like Paris. A short ways removed from the Olsen sisters in lifestyle but it has some great descriptions of all things Paris! An Austrailian wrote it and I think originally published there.

I'm currently reading 'La Vie Parisienne: Looking for Love and the Perfect Lingerie'. The author is another Australian called Janelle McCulloch.
I bought it because I could not go past the cover (some lovely raised bits in velvet) but I'm still not decided whether I like it or not.
The one thing I do like about it is all the wonderful quotes peppered throughout, such as...
'Whoever does not visit Paris regularly will nver be really elegant' - Honore de Balzac 'Paris is always a good idea' - Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina 'To breath Paris conserves the soul' - Victor Hugo

Greyghost, is that the sequel to Chocolat, as in the movie with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp?! The Corbett sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing!

ouiparis...yes it is and I like this ending. And the Corbett, I think, is true, not a novel. Mez, I like those quotes. Let me know if you end up liking it or not.
