First I APOLOGIZE for the photo sizes. I PROMISE that these are the LAST I will post in full size. And I'm also sorry the link in the title doesn't work. It is an in-game link from one of my childish sons computergames: Grand Theft Auto which some of you may know already. He just showed me this in-game travelguide for Americans, and naturellement I figured that you (my best transatlantic buddies ) would be the perfect "target group"...... ;D So here are some highly instructive examples of what the American tourist should observe when going to Europe ! ;D ;D ;D

This is real funny and clever too ! I am really surprised to read this comes out of Grand Theft Auto . My son (13) is currently fighting with us so that we would allow him to buy the newly issued GTA 4, but we read so awful things about this game being incredibly violent (+ sex, drugs, ...) . Of course he constantly reminds us of all his friends who have already got it . Shops in France are forbidden to sell to kids under 18 who are not with an adult . I really wouldn't have guessed that there was humour in this game too .

There's a LOT of humour in the game - but yes, it is totally and absolutely immoral. At once you're released from prison you steal a policecar and then the chase starts all over again. But I see it this way: our boys sure learn how to manoeuvre a vehicle at high speed ! Perhaps I should add that my childish son will turn 21 next month..... anne266, I just asked him about the sex-scenes in GTA 4. You never actually see the act carried out, only hear the "soundtrack" and you never see anything but a pair of naked boobs (which will probably not shock a computer savvy 13 year old ). And how come a French mom worries about "flowers-and-bees" matters ? Aren't you supposed to be such an erotically easygoing and tolerant people ? I mean your boy is 13 and he's probably already capable of presenting you with a grandchild, although that may be a tad too early.....

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Gitte, this is HILARIOUS. WHAT would they do with it on Trip Advisor? It seems your son has inherited your talent for finding funny things. Keep them coming, you brighten up my day!! Again an exalt for this! Denise Love from England

This is a riot, Gitte. ;D If your son's sense of humor is only half of what yours is, I'd say that he is still doing very well in that department.

That is absolutely hysterical> I just had to copy the pictures and send them to a British friend of mine, who has the same sense of humor!

anne266, I just asked him about the sex-scenes in GTA 4. You never actually see the act carried out, only hear the "soundtrack" and you never see anything but a pair of naked boobs (which I suspect would come as no real shock to a computer savvy 13 year old ). I mean your boy is 13 and he's probably already capable of presenting you with a grandchild, although that may be a tad too early..... Gitte, I am neither prude nor naïve . I know very well that my son has seen muuuch worse on TV or on the computer than naked boobs . Only I would have suspected that sex on such a game would have nothing to do with "flowers and bees" but would be very crude and even violent, and I don't see why he should watch that with my blessing . And THANK YOU for trying to make me worry about a grandchild ! Mind you, I am safe for the moment : his first and only girlfriend so far was one of his twin sister's good friend, several months ago . The whole affair lasted for ...two days, that is until he very cleverly boasted in front of a mate that "yeah, she is OK, but too bad that she has greasy hair !" . The buddy (who obviously had his own plans with the girl), run to tell he that and of course she immediately dumped my baby ! I tell you, I just couldn't stop laughing hysterically when my daughter told me the whole story ! I instructed her to try and teach her brother about the absolute DON'Ts when dealing with a girlfriend (I cannot, since I am not supposed to know anything about this whole story !) . Anyway, he now seems to have decided that his beloved skateboards and his XBox are much more fun and much less trouble than girls . And neither skateboards nor XBoxes have been known to produce babies so far ...

Agree that we should never encourage or support nastiness, there's enough of that in the "real" world. However, I am confident that our kids are smart enough to see through the glow-world of their computergames. And if I ever come to Alsace I now know that I'd better not have greasy hair...... anne266, I think that you need not worry about your sons whereabouts yet, re. the "flowers and bees"-issue ! ;D

cigale -mimi ! THANK YOU for reminding me of our Great Dane, Victor Borge. He was sooo unique and I loved him very much - and he was a divine pianist, in fact - and he touched everyones heart with his elegant, bizarre and stark-raving-mad humour. ;D I was at his shows in Tivoli in Copenhagen for several summers in late 1970'ties, early 80'ties. One year I bought tickets for 2 consecutive evenings, and the shows were completely different. Each time I had such a tummy-ache for laughing hysterically throughout the entire show - together with all the other thrilled and spellbound spectators. And we all shed tears when he ended the shows with soft lullabies on the grand piano. He lived in the US for most of his life (fled from the war, being a Jew) - but he spoke the most beautiful Danish for all those years. More beautiful than most Danes, as it were. Please - the rest of you - go to the YouTube link and enjoy. (do NOT miss the one with the soprano, Marilyn Mulvey ! ;D) uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HVIHyfvPceo&feature=relateduk.youtube.com/watch?v=0WvfoFTSk3c&feature=related (Luc: also note that he plays a REAL piano a genuine Bösendorfer, not that plastic-sound Steinway....... ;D)

Luc, I saw him here in Boston playing a real piano. Thanks Gitte, I was very fond and amused by him

uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gWrqtJTEmBk&feature=relatedListen and watch these two old guys play the Minut Waltz - and you'll know what musical magic is all about: flowing from the heart of the pianist into the piano and further on deep into the heart of the listener. If this cannot make you smile and feel good, nothing can.

I've seen that before. Thanks for posting it but what's amazing is not just his relaxed style of playing but one if not the best comedic style of dilivery. He was a genious to me.
