:)Thanks Demarais, but I meant the symbols at the side of the thread titles. When I look closely, (glasses help!) I think they are file symbols. Some are flashing. some are not. Some thread titles have ?torches next to them. And on the home page all the categories have blue circles with something yellow at the back of them Denise

Denise, those folders actually start burning the hotter the topic is (the more replies the topic receives). As for the blue and gray dots with the file folders behind them...I'm not sure!

I believe the blue and grey dots indicate whether or not you're read that thread. After you've read it, the blue dot changes to grey. At least it does on my computer. Thanks for explaining the burning files, Annette!

Honestly, I've no clue what the blue and gray dots mean, so I'll go with what Darcy said!

I have also noticed that the blue dots turn grey once I have read the thread. But, you may be referring to the other types of icons that appear in some threads in place of the folder symbol (burning or otherwise)? Those are icons that can be inserted when a thread is created - click on "new thread" and the box under the subject line allows you to select an icon (the default appears to be the folder, which changes as the topic "heats up"), including an exclamation mark, a question mark, etc.
