I didn 't really know exactly where to post this! I finally got around to reading the Spring Town and Country Travel issue. There is an article called Adventures in Dining and one of the cities it covers is PARIS! David Tanis, who was the chef at Chez Panisse , one of the top US restaurants decided to change his life. He made a deal with Alice Waters the owner and now works 6 months a year in CA and spends the rest of the year in Paris in his Latin Quarter apt. that he shares with his partner, Randal Breski, who was the maitre d' at CP. As the article says a chef's got to cook so they started a dining club, Aux Chiens Lunatiques. From November thru April they will hold dinners for 12,in their apt. The first 12 who sign up on their website dine on a super fresh, market driven menu with superb wines. At the end a jar is passed for your contributions! Sounds like great fun if you hit the right time! When I was looking for the website, I saw an article that mentions you can also read about it on David Lebovitz's website. monsite.wanadoo.fr/chienlunatique/

I've bookmarked this site, sounds like a great idea, they may not be in Paris when we are there next May, but maybe I can rent their apartment!

What a cool idea! Sounds like an improvement on the Jim Haynes dinners. I wonder how difficult it is being one of those first twelve...

This sounds MUCH better than the Jim Hayne's gatherings - I really wouldn't call them "dinners"!! Anyway, I'm going to bookmark this and try to be one of the 12 when I hopefully go to Paris next April.
