Well, I thought and thought but couldn't come up with anything that wouldn't be construed as cruel, especially for those of us with a bad case of PPD and very little funds. Such as airfare for $200. So for those who were able to pull off a good joke.

Our "April Fool's" day, as in Spain and other Latin American countries, is celebrated on December 28th, and it's called "El dia de los inocentes" (Innocent's day). It has to do with the Biblical story about the killing of all the babies born in Betlehem, so I never understood why the jokes According to Wikipedia, April Fool's day derives from France: "France was one of the first nations to make January 1 officially New Year's Day. Thus the New Year's gifts and visits of felicitation which had been the feature of the 1 April became associated with the first day of January, and those who disliked or did not hear about the change were fair game for those wits who amused themselves by sending mock presents and paying calls of pretended ceremony on the 1 April. In France the person fooled is known as poisson d'avril (April fish)" Did you know?

Year's ago wen I was taking my not so hot French lessons at FIAF it was around this time of year and the instructor made a big deal of the Poisson d' Avril... most of us(a couple non USA born) were of course familiar with April Fool..but the fish thing..pinning a paper fish to someone's back as a funny joke did not quite translate.. but I quite .like the idea of the chocolate fish though!
