LOVE the photos, Anne. Thanks so much for posting them. It sure does look pretty there, especially with all the Christmas decorations. Strasbourg is added to my list...

Thanks so much for the pictures - I love the lanterns as tree lights (in scale with the tree, delightfully different).

Thanks so much Anne for the gorgeous pictures. I have read so much about Strasbourg and now I can see why! What a wonderful place to be during Christmas!

Anne.
I very much enjoyed my visit to Strasbourg(and Nancy!) It was a September trip, so I love seeing how pretty it is at the Holidays! too!
I've been to Paris, and a day trip out to Troyes, in early Jan., and mid Nov....but never for the full Holiday experience so I am so happy to be going today!
Roll bag is closed...carry on almost and handbag needs a few more things. Then...eat my turkey sandwich, get dressed and go! My layover, change planes , in Geneva is only an hour,25 mins. so I hope the delays at JFK are not too long....it is rainy, foggy out and another wave of it may be coming!! Air travel this time of year is so challenging!!

Anne and/or others, We have clients in April who are going to Strasbourg, something to do with the EU, after 10 days in Paris, they ask me for restaurants suggestions, do you have any ideas?
Merci par avance.

- Chez Yvonne (book several days ahead) - S' Muensterstuewel (yes, this is Alsacian, but you can try to pronounce it anyway ;D) - Le Clou Those three are upper-range winstubs (restaurants with Alsacian food and décor) .
- Le panier du marché
- If they want to splurge, the city's best restaurant is called Le Crocodile . I was never over-enthusiastic about it, used to prefer the other 3 stars restaurant which was run by the guy who now runs Drouant (are you eating at Drouant on this trip then ?)
- La cloche à fromage (cheese-based dishes)
- If they can go in one of the neighbouring villages to have a diner of tarte flambée .
If the info is not too urgent, I will ask my mom next time on the phone, she eats out a lot whereas we only go to Strasbourg a few times a year now .
If your friends are going to stay in Strasbourg during an European Parliament session, they will have to book all their restaurants a few days ahead, because ALL decent restaurants are packed for dinner during those periods .
