Truffaut's gorgeous tarte got me in the baking mood yesterday, so I'll share the recipe I made: Tarte Amandine à la Myrtlle (Blueberry Amandine Tart) From "Chocolate & Zucchini" by Clotilde Dusoulier Pâte Sablée (see Truffaut's recipe post) 1/2 cup sugar 3/4 cup whole blanched almonds 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt 1 stick unsalted butter 2 eggs 2 cups blueberries (suggested substitutions are raspberries or poached pear slices) 1/3 cup sliced almonds (for garnish) 1) Prepare pâte sablée and line a 10-inch tart pan as directed in recipe www.ourparisforum.com/index.cgi?board=recipes&action=display&thread=1181311537Cover and refrigerate about an hour. 2) Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and bake tart shell for 10-12 minutes, until golden. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes while preparing almond cream. 3) Almond cream: Combine sugar, whole almonds and salt in food processor and mix until finely ground. Add butter and process till combined. Add eggs one at a time and process till smooth. 4) Layer blueberries (or other fruit) on bottom of tart shell, then cover evenly with almond cream. 5) Return to hot oven for 25 minutes. Sprinkle sliced almonds over top, then bake an additional 15 minutes, or until set and almonds are golden. Cool and serve. Yesterday's tarte fresh out of the oven (sorry, my photos aren't as pretty as Truffauts!): First slice:

Will run this off along with Truffaut's pastry recipe. It looks marvelous and husband is intrigued. Since he does most of the cooking and baking, that is a good sign. Thanks.

Truffaut,
Please provide more recipes. Although I should probably go on a grapefruit diet till we leave for France so I can eat there, evrything sounds wonderful.
Merci.

Thanks! That reminds me, it's still in the refrigerator! Gee...you know you're addicted to this forum when you have to see pictures of the food in your own fridge on here to remember there are goodies in the house to eat!
