I'm getting ready to go to an early St. Patrick's Day party and I thought of our dear Irish...here's wishing him a very happy day on Monday.

We already had our corned beef and cabbage. I buy a few and freeze them when they are on special. I LOVE cooked cabbage...must be the dirty Irish in me..as my English husband says!
Personally we celebrate 3/18.. David's birthday!

Yes I hope Irish is well and will be having a tipple or two tomorrow!
I made the corned beef and cabbage(and potatoes and onions and carrots),and store bought soda bread and an Irish cheddar yesterday. Also some Guinness and Irish coffee...will save the green beer for Monday. I get home too late to start cooking it tomorrow...plus I start going "meatless" on Wed. until Easter so I've got to get my fill of it before then!
I work a block from where the grand old parade winds up so I'll bring a corned beef sandwich and walk over at lunch time!
I too like cabbage but in my case it is the Irish and the Polish in me! I'm genetically disposed to cabbage and potatoes! ;D

Yes, IrishRovr, if ye be taking a gander this way...we are hoping for eyes all healed, health restored and a happy jig on St. Pat's Day! We be missing you! Speaking of Irish matters, I am reading "History of Ireland" by Malachy McCourt. Ireland has quite the interesting history! The chapter I am currently reading reflects France and Ireland's alliance as against England (later 18th century)...but unlike France's revolution and America's break from England....Ireland so inspired by this wave of freedom, had far less success.

And on this day I too find myself missing our dear forum friend and sage. I'm looking forward to seeing you again, Irish, and hearing your words of wisdom.
