We've arrived and are having a fabulous time! Hubby decided to bring his laptop at the last minute, so I might pop in and say hi from time to time (but I hate typing on this little keyboard, so don't expect great reports just yet!). Highlights so far: Jardin Luxemborg, Pantheon, St. Etienne du Mont yesterday; today was Grenelle market, wandered the Marais, and L'As for lunch. Hubby loved the falaffel and thanks you all for the recommendation! Naptime is over, gotta wake the big guy up and get out there some more! It's been over 24 hours and I haven't had any macarons yet

Hi Annette !! Kick the ol'man out of bed and drag him out in the streets ! We the left-behinders won't have any Paris stories to enjoy if you stay in the room, so git git git..........

Bonjour Annette - glad you made it with no problems, and yes we all are feeling a bit wistful that you're there and we're not (but we're there in spirit!).

I agree that when you're in Paris, you shouldn't waste precious time in your room. Bedroom stuff should be left for the end of the day when you have sore footsies from a full day of seeing Paris.

Hi, AnnetteCinCa! So glad you glowed ! Missed wishing you bon voyage, but so happy you made it there safe and sound and are already having fun (albeit nap time had to interrupt!). I can't wait to hear all about your adventures en Paris! I have yet to sample a falaffel at L'As myself (pathetique? oui). I also have not had an actual macaron in Paris! All this forum chatter about macarons made me have to bake them myself to see what all the buzz is about...and I have come to the conclusion that I will have to go to Paris and taste one (or more) and make a comparison thereof (as if I can't guess which I will prefer!). Have fun!

I beg to differ Shoesy.."bedtime stuff" is appropriate at any time..after all, as a Mr. Not so Wonderful and bartender once said "ah, but this is Paris!"
You just have to adjust to get it ALL !!!!
But I do agree...go out there and get a macaron!! I didn't last time and since we are staying near CE Lauderee....it is on the first to do list!!

Thanks all! I managed to drag him out of bed and out for a yummy dinner at Le Reminet and a walk around the area over there. This morning we're off to Tours for the day. Still no macarons!

Annette - I have no doubt that you will have more than one opportunity to eat macarons. As for L'As du Falafel, if any of you guys get tired of visiting Paris (yeah, right! ) and still crave that veggy meal, you can always plan a little trip to Israel, where I highly recommend Gina's Falafel. Incidentally, anyone who pays a visit to my little country had better plan on meeting me or else........ ;D

Annette, it is great to hear that you are having a good time , and no worries about transportation anymore . Cybee, I have never been to l'As du Falafel either, yet I don't feel pathetic so don't worry .
