Hi all,
I just have to tell you that I am feeling very grateful to the Our Paris forum. As most of you know, I am taking my mom to Paris in December, and we are planning to get together with happygoin.
Well, I used to live in happy's home town of Boston, and this past weekend I went up there to visit a friend of mine. Happy and I decided that it would be nice to meet before Paris, so on Saturday we FINALLY got to meet face-to-face, and we had a fabulous time. We had lunch at a sidewalk cafe in Boston's now-trendy South End (where I used to live), and can you believe that we even had a cute FRENCH waiter? Then we sat in a "hidden" little park in my old neighborhood (that both happy and I decided was VERY Parisian) while we poured over my Paris plan. Then we went shopping and did girly things like had a make-over. And finally we met my friend at a French restaurant called Brasserie Jo. We had champagne/peach cocktails, my friend and I drank a bottle of sancerre, and we ate pate and I had skate wings with capers and happy had a steak. We split some bread pudding and had cafes, and then we walked happy to the train and said goodbye...and I knew that I had made a really great friend. She is a beautiful person inside and out, and just as nice in person as she is on the forum...
So, all I gotta say is - look out Paris, here we come!!

Sis and Happy - I'm so glad you finally got to meet. You must have had such a splendid day getting acquainted, eating and talking about your trip to Paris. And of course all those girly things are always fun.........if you're a girl, that is. ;D

Well, Shoesy...we're definitely girls . We talked and talked and talked. There might have been a bit of laughing too especially after the champagne cocktails. Not that I was ever concerned, but now I'm quite certain that Sistereurope and Luckymama and I will have a fabulous time in Paris.

It's just a good thing that I'm a Red Sox fan, because otherwise there may have been some insurmountable "issues"...

We had a lovely brunch at the Mission Inn in Riverside, Ca. yesterday with Tim and Sandy from Iowa. I met Sandy on The TA froum two years ago. We got together briefly for drinks in Paris last Novemeber with some other members. This time it was just the 4 of us in a beautiful setting and we had a blast.
Then we drove home into the inferno.

That is so great that you were able to meet and spend some time together. I met Darcy on another forum and since then we've visited and traveled together. I really look forward to meeting some of the people on this forum...sometime in PARIS!! Not many people want to come visit here in Disney Land! You can go to Paris more cheaply!
