Merci Beaucoup!! I'm really going to celebrate tomorrow as today is full of work and kid's activities. As I grow older, the most important gift I get each year is being healthy and happy! (well, and maybe a trip to Paris ;D)

I too would like to wish you a Happy Birthday from Israel. Many happy returns! September 27th is a special day for me too because it's also my daughter's birthday.

Happy birthday to you Shoesy. In my book, a mother is just as important as the birthday person. Withouth you, there would be no birthday!

Thanks. A little while ago I was reminiscing with my hubby about how it was to give birth back then. In those days they didn't have Epidurals in Israel, so my long labor was a real "ouch" experience.

Then you deserve many congrats too Shoesy! ;D I always love to remind my daughter (who just turned 15 on the 15th) about how I managed to have her with no drugs, all 8 lbs 9 oz of her!!! (Believe me, I was screaming for some!!!)

anne-today I'm watching what I eat, tomorrow I'll feast! I'm keeping my eye on the calendar as I meet my college friends next week in Santa Fe. I'm still trying to get those 5 pounds from Paris off!! Like my memories of Paris, they stick with you.

Happy Birthday! Have a great year!
I can sympathize regarding the five pounds. I also came back with the same extra weight that appears to want to stay forever. But as I write about our meals, it does seem worthwhile, sort of.
Last year we were in Paris longer and so did more walking. Oh well.

Don't even talk to ME about extra pounds!!! As I mentioned in your thread, Holger, I seem to have put on weight ever since I started reading your reports in which you described all those delicious meals you had in France. Well........ I guess it could also be the Jewish holidays as well as the weddings I've recently attended. ;D

Despite the fact I didn't get home unitl after 7 pm, I was determined to make a fabulous b-day dinner. We had duck, potato pancakes, spinach salad with a beautiful gateau for dessert. Of course I cheated with duck, its frozen from maple leaf farms and all you do is microwave! (yes, it sounds weird, but its fullly cooked and you warm it only) My gateau was from France via trader Joes. I have to say I was inspired by Holger's posts about food!! Thanks for all the well wishes.

I'm late ! But happy birthday anyway!
Your dinner sounds lovely, especially the gateau. I buy those Maple farm ducks too. I just wish they were a bit rarer
