Yes Geordy, spreading out the celebration is one way to take the sting out of getting older! I didn't get my present yet either, so I'm looking forward to that AND the VC!!!
And yesterday my daughter gave me a funny card that plays the Green Acres themesong, da da da da da, da da!

Well, I didn't top Sistereurope, nor did I top spending my 55th Birthday in Paris a few years ago. A bit late, but merci beacoup for all the wishes. I did buy a bottle of Moet Chandon at , well um...Costco and drank it for dinner on Saturday. (My husband had to make an emergency trip to North Carolina so I drank it alone with my dog. And I didn't share. Nor eat much either. I did spend the day at consignments shops in Palm Desert and had lots of fun without any hubby comments in my ear.

Keep the celebration going!

Greyghost - you won't get any argument from me about buying at Costco! I think they all have their own wine buyers, but the one in our area has some really great wine (esp. Bordeaux, and also good California cabs) at very good prices from time to time, as well as good champagne from time to time. I always check to see what they have!

Grey, I have this vision of you walking through the stores wearing one of those helmets with a beverage holder attached to either side and a plastic tube running down toward your mouth. And a bottle of MC on each side!
