Thank you annette. She is about to start her radiation, already did chemo and surgery. We all have our fingers crossed for her. Our goal is a bike ride in provence when she's all better. Thanks for your contribution! I saw that you donated. Karma points to you!

You are welcome. If a bike ride in Provence isn't good motivation to get well, I don't know what is! My son-in-law's mom just went thru this too, so everyone in that predicament has a soft spot in my heart right now.

We will all be thinking good thoughts (for you as you run, and for your sister as she recuperates).

In northern Ohio, where my resto is, we have a group called the Promise Quilters who make a quilt every year for which they sell raffle tickets and hold a drawing during the race (at the end of September here). About two weeks ago, I did a joint wine tasting/fun raiser with them, and they created 40 tabletop quilts that we auctioned off during the tasting. We ended up raising $1046 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Woohoo. It was a lot of fun, and I think I'm going to make it an annual event.

That is so cool Arrow! I love that idea. Had I known I would have made the trip, I'm in Cincinnati! Where is your restaurant? Maybe I need to stop by there. My alma mater (BGSU) is having a study abroad reunion at the end of September that I might attend. Are you anywhere near there? I didn't know you had a restaurant!

It's in a Toledo suburb called Sylvania...a few miles north of BG. The resto will be closed at the end of September, tho....cuz I'll be in Italy and France. It's our annual closing to travel with a some of our regular customers. I'll spend 10 days in Italy with them, and then head "home" to Paris for 10 days. And, I don't really "have" a restaurant...yet. I run the place, and if all goes as planned it will be mine soon, but when I refer to it as "my restaurant", I'm using the term loosely.
Jeesh...I've certainly used my quota of "quotes" in this post....

Les - Best wishes to your sister for her complete recovery. In Israel we always give donations for that cause. Unfortunately, so many of us have close ones who have been affected by this horrible disease. BTW, the appliances on my daughter's bridal registry are pink ones, and for those who don't know it, a small percentage of money obtained from the purchase of pink appliances is donated to the fight against breast cancer.

Well, next time I'm up that way and you are open I will stop by. What kind of food do you serve?
Thank you Shoesy. There are so many ways to contribute, this disease touches so many...

Our thoughts are with you both for the run and your sister, it is a wonderful way to show how much these issues mean to us all. In the UK we do a similar run "Race for Life" which I have voluteered for next year with a few friends. I hope you have a fantastic time, give yourself a huge pat on the back, and know that we are all there waiting for you as you cross the finish line. xxx

It went very well! I finished in good time, but the best was all the people there for the same cause. It's amazing how many people breast cancer touches.
I raised $720! Thanks Annette!
