I'm referring to the travel book "1,000 Places to See in the United States and Canada Before You Die" 2006 edition. by Travel Writer Pratricia Schultz.
Why did I post?
Well, where I live Independence Missouri is included in that list! Truman Home Truman Presidential Museum & Library National Frontier Trails Museum (which is two blocks from my apt.) and several other events and sights.
However don't come unless you have transportation. We have no bus service between Kansas City and Independence on Sat & Sun.

Didn't she also write a book about the 1000 places WOMEN should see before they die? It seems to me that I remember leafing through that in Barnes and Noble one day when I went there to replace my Paris walking map. Paris wasn't in it!!!!!

I remember being really surprised that it wasn't there. I don't remember which places WERE there, just that they didn't interest me all that much. One of the places was something like Duluth, Minnesota. Not that I have anything against Duluth, but to omit Paris in favor of it struck me as just crazy. I agree...it should be banned, at least from OUR reading list .

Speaking of Duluth, what's there anyway?! My nephew just went there on his honeymoon, and I can't quite figure out his choice of venue...

Happy, I kid you not! They went to Duluth! Only thing I can figure is it holds a special place in his bride's heart since she grew up near there. But I seriously wonder about that boy...
