I don't know, Sis. I'm still working on her in the puppy department. I'm trying to get her not to be so afraid of doggies. Can you imagine being afraid of Ian's cuties?

Whoah, Dep! Those are awesome pics! Truly astounding landscape there! So you saw a glacier "calving"! Sadly, I suppose that is getting more frequent due to global warming? I bet it is an incredible sight nonetheless! A Bald Eagle bringing home its salmon dinner...wow! The sights you saw! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, dep, great pictures! Alaska really is an astonishing place (and congrats on the eagle/salmon photo, I got a few shots of eagles on my one trip but never saw one catch a salmon, much less did I get it on film!). I think it's impossible for anyone to really understand the sheer size, until they have been there.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. I found Alaska to be one of the most unexpectedly beautiful places I have ever been. It's a place I highly recommend for everyone to see. I felt very fortunate to see the glacier calving...the sight (and sound) is amazing. I actually caught another one while I was taking a movie on my camera, which was very cool! But you're right Cybee....I do think it's getting more frequent due to global warming. Sad. Becky - I was so thrilled that I captured that shot of the salmon! I didn't think I was going to get it, but I was purely in the right place at the right time!

Fabulous gorgeous pictures!! Thanks! Loved the eagle with the salmon -- unbelievable that the eagle could get off the ground and continue to fly high with lunch in the talons.
We had a couple of travel agencies in my past life and everyone who went to Alaska came back just blown away by how beautiful it was and how surprised they were at how much they loved it. I guess there must be other places besides Paris?

That does it, Gitte...........we're going to have to investigate all your former lives to find out where this doggy phobia came from. In any case, dep, I looked at your pics once again, and they are truly breathtaking. I exalt you for sharing them with us.
