Some friends are giving a party for my daughter who is getting married. The party has a French theme, with a Paris scene on the invitation, French foods and wines being served, and even some French musicians playing. There are several hosts, and we need to buy them each a thank-you gift for hosting the party. Any ideas for French gifts? The only idea I've come up with is to give them each a Diptyque candle. I'd love some creative suggestions!

If the hosts are all females, you could find some antique perfume bottles on the internet. They do have some very pretty and not to expensive ones. s

In case your friends have an interest for France, what about a book with beautiful photos ? I found these on Amazon.com : "One hundred & one beautiful small towns in France", "The most beautiful villages of France", "France from the air" .

How about a share in a Paris apartment ;D
Seriously, what sort of budget were you thinking of for a gift? Were you thinking of a single item for each gift, or maybe making up a basket of several different less expensive things?

Okay, that settles it. Shares in the Paris apartment for everyone! Truffaut, just be sure to choose something light and spacious and...Oh wait, grrrr. I forgot for a moment that I'm not a ka-zillionaire. Doh. I hate that. It really stifles me.
You guys are great. I knew I could count on you to come up with some clever ideas. I'd like to keep the gifts about (or under) fifty dollars each. It's the idea that counts, right?!! You've given me some good choices to consider.
Ian, the wine waiter idea will be great for one of the hosts who loves wine. With a thermometer, too -- wow! Annette, I took a quick look at the website, and I'm almost sorry you sent me the link. I'm such a sucker for stuff like that. I have my own collection of tackly little Eiffel Towers already. I'm sure when I have a chance to peruse the site I'll find some treasures.

How about a French CD? Piaf, Charles Trenet, Aznavour? Or a mixture? Soundtrack from Amelie? Or a DVD of a French or France themed flick? Or as Truffaut suggests a few things in a nice basket or bag? A French wine, cheese, pate? Along with one of the above? For some reason, , folks tend to give me French themed gifts! I've got an Eiffel Tower tote bag(Shoesy saw it!), shirts, pate/cheese spreaders with French waiter handles, Wine cooler inflatable things with French artists designs, tea towels with French themes, Eiffel Tower Clock....you name it! I'm sure you'll come up with something nice!
