I don't even know who Gianda is, let alone where she went in Paris!

SE, Giada DeLaurentis is the movie director, Dino's granddaughter. She's the one with the mouth as wide as a horse's that always wears low-cut shirts. I don't mean to sound unflattering (ok, I do) or prudish, but I wish just once she'd put on a top that wasn't cut down to here and skin tight.
Muffya, I finished My Life In France last weekend. I had forgotten that they lived in Marseilles and Germany. Very nice read. I liked it better than her biography. I thought it was much more personal. I got a little teary at the end, because it occurred to me that there wouldn't be any more books by Julia. She lived a very full life.

Thanks happy - now that you mention it, I DO think I've seen her "cooking" on TV. Sort of like a Victoria Secret Model with a spatula...
I am definitely going to get My Life in France this weekend! I loved Julia too - I think of her when I'm standing there, chopping/sauteing/stirring away in my hot kitchen, glass of wine in my hand... She made it ok to drink and cook ;D

Happy, The first dinner was at Cherche-Midi..an Italian(?!) restaurant on the rue she lived on during her culinary days in Paris. She went also to Poiliane bakery there which was fine. Then spent time at her cooking school . Got Berthillon ice cream not at the main store....maybe it was closed , looked like warm weather..but at the ice cream window at the restaurant on Isle St. Louis where I had a fabulous cassoulet last Feb.! On Sunday went to the Marche in St. Germaine, okay but would have perferred at street market..got two different kinds of cheese sandwiches(even her husband wanted some meat!) and eclairs(one choc one vanilla..but maybe a different kind of pastry??) wine and picniced in lux gardens. But Paris looked great!

Thanx, geordy. She should have consulted us before the trip. We'd have told her some great places to go...
