I'm curious whether anyone else has tried bamboo fabric for anything (I know it's used for both towels and sheets, maybe other things as well). I first saw towels in a shop in Perigueux last year, but that type of thing weighs so much I didn't want to buy and bring home although the feel in the store was great.

So -- I just bought towels in a bamboo fabric from The Company Store, and can tell you that I love them! They feel like silk, and seem to take dye well (the colors are great), and they are super absorbent (plus, best of all, they were on sale). So, if anyone has been thinking of trying them, that's my hot shopping tip for the day.

I had two shirts made of 75% bamboo and 25% cotton, they are my favorite in the summer, they feel fresh like linen but less expensive. I got them at Le Printemps last year.

LL -- I didn't know this was being used for clothing as well. How is it for wrinkling? I would think it would be quite comfortable to wear, and will have to keep my eyes open for other examples.

I have a bamboo sport coat. I has a silky feel, but more body, not as wrinkly as linen.

Ray, I guess my "discovery" wasn't really all that ground breaking! I do intend to watch for more items in bamboo, just because I'm so impressed with the towels (and the comments from you and luckyluc).

I have 2 pairs of Bamboo pajammas and I love them. First of all, they're very pretty and then on top of that, they don't wrinkle. I hadn't gome out looking for them, but I noticed that the fabric was so soft I thought I'd give them a try. No shrinking, no wrinkling and just yummy. Highly recommend as p.j.'s. I would try them as a blouse also and maybe a pair of trousers.
