Hi all you Americanos and Brits (and Argentinos...)
What does this sentence mean ?? >>>I am happy to wave the security deposit for your stay.<<<
Does it mean that I do not have to pay the security deposit ? If yes.... wauw, then I've been upgraded !
Thanks a lot.

You're a dilly! It's waive...not wave. Silly... Wait! Do you mean to say that you're a "preferred customer" with the Paris Apt Rental company!!! WOW!!

As you appealled to the Argentinos as well, I think can tell you that if they meant that you are exempt of paying the deposit, it must say "to waive". If so, you are not required to pay for it. Good for you.

Happy - silly dilly yourself!
I copy-pasted it directly from Gail's e-mail to me tonight - she is Canadian, maybe they spell differently.
So you think it means "annull" ?

Gitte - if she spelled it "wave" it was a slip (or her spell-check feature on the computer went a bit astray). It's a form of the word "waiver" if that helps, and it means to forgive, or forego.

If I ever decide to go the apartment route(a stay of longer than a week in Paris probably) I am using that agency and your name!! Well, asking for a recommendation at any rate!

Everyone is entitled to make a spelling mistake once in a while, right? In fact, I do it all the time. Moreover, it's very common to use the wrong homonym, and that's obviously what happened in this case. So Gitte, you have earned some priviledges in Paris - how nice! Maybe when you plan your 2009 trip they will give you a big fat discount. ;D
