That's so true, Becky...and speaking of Casablanca quotes, Mae West was a true democrat when it came to MEN.

Speaking of Mae West quotes -- did anyone else have the "guilty pleasure" of watching Knots Landing back in the day? There was a scene near the end where the William Devane character (don't recall his name) says to a "bad woman" (don't recall who), "no, I'm not glad to see you - that's a gun in my pocket!" I always loved that one!

I loved Knots Landing, and used to watch it all the time. And I remember William Devane, who my kids and I nicknamed "the crow" because that's what he looked like.

Ha! Yes! I did partake in that guilty pleasure of watching "Knot's Landing" back in the day! Was one of the few such shows that I had to tape (even back then) if I missed!

Yes...Alexis was the bad one Gitte. Linda Evans was the goodie goodie...
You gotta love a group of people who know Casablanca inside and out AND can name all the characters on Dallas!!

I was too much of a latecomer to Dallas to really get into it, but I did like Miss Ellie (or, Mademoiselle Ellie, as I'm sure she was known when it was rebroadcast in France . . . .)

I absolutely HATED Bobby Ewing. Insipid is the word that comes to mind. Although a bunch of us rented a naughty movie in the 80's that was a perfect take-off of Dallas. It was just hysterical.

happy - could you rewind and erase that, plz ? Good American Girls sleep with their hands above the duvet and have NO knowledge whatsoever of naughty movies, in case you shouldn't know.

Definitely agree about Bobby -- what a total nerd! (Actually, now that I think of it, quite similar to "our [well, someone's] prez"!)

SE, I liked Dusty too...and Susan, his soulmate, whose star never seemed to be aligned in Dusty's universe. Ahhh true love...
Gitte, us nice girls had boyfriends and THEY rented the movie. We happened to be in the room but we kept our eyes shut the whole time. Okay, I peeked ONCE.

It was the result of an accident. That's why he and Suellen parted.
