Hi Truffaut - our wizzard ! We really do need some link between the chatroom and the forum. How can we get some sort of "ding-dong-sign" in the forum to signal that now there are members in the chatroom waiting to have a nice chat

I wish I knew! It's a great idea, but I don't know how to do it. The forum and the chat room are by two different software providers, and they're not integrated. The chat room I tried to build into the forum seemed to have to many bugs, although it did have an alarm notification system.

Or maybe there should be a special chatroom thread that would always be listed on top, and on it we can post that we're in the chatroom. Everyone who is on line and is interested in a possible chat can just look at the most recent post or something like that. Of course I would really prefer a bell to ring to give me some kind of notification, but anything would be good.

Sistereurope, dont feel alone, I don't do chat rooms ( I talk for Britain as it is) I believe they can cause friction in the home if you are not careful and people can argue too easily in them, so I keep my thoughts to the forum where I have time to think of my answers........So if anyone is in there with my name its NOT me!

It would be so nice to know if we should use the old chatroom (on the front page) or the new chatroom (on this page) ??
Are there still technical problems for some members to enter the new chatroom ?

What new chatroom?

I keep on hopping over to the old chatroom, but I hardly ever see anybody. I'm constantly entering and leaving, entering and leaving. I feel like I'm doing the Hokey Pokey.

OK OK - I'am in the old chatroom now.
ArrowC: If you look at the line of symbols right under your name at the top of this page, the last of the symbols says "chat" - that's the new chatroom.

Can someone tell me which chat room everyone is using? Like Shoesy, I am feeling like a fiddler's elbow...in...out...in...out. And I can't access the chat room that is at the top of the page next to "logout". My computer revolted when I tried. I'm very confused, although I will admit that I am accustomed to the feeling...

OK - should we then all agree that we use the OLD chatroom (accessed from the frontpage) ?? I also find it smarter, because it doesn't close down the forum - and it doesn't take up all the space on the screen. SO you can easily pop over to the forum and see what's cooking....

OK, I'll get rid of the chatroom link on the top of this page. However, that means no more complaining about other potentially being able to log in with a false user ID!

Oops! So, basically anyone can look at forum posts, pick a name, and claim to be that person in the chat room (except if they happen already to be there)?

I can't get into the original chat room. When I click on it I get a little thin box that asks of my chat name. When I do that and click okay nothing happens. Help!

Becky, the other day I was signed in as Shoesy, and I decided to re-enter without having signed out, and I came back as Mickey Mouse. So I was there as two people at the same time.

I did it as an experiment of course.

Of course you did -- we know you would never want us to believe your ears were that big (not to mention, black!). So, just to sum up, we can at will have our alternate personalities transmute into rodents of the opposite gender! ;D

And I forgot to mention that I was in good company because Gitte transformed herself into Minnie Mouse. That chatroom can be quite entertaining.
