I think that I am all planned and the countdown is on. I'm not sure of opinions on posting our full plans, so I'll skip that and just ask a few last minute questions. Sorry this is so long! On Thursday we are going to Musee d'Orsay because one of the major reasons I am going to Paris is to see the Impressionist works and it is a late open evening. Has anyone had a meal at the museum? Is Thursday still a late open evening? Friday will include a trip to Notre Dame. I want to remember this by purchasing a set of rosary beads in the city. I am converting to the religion and would like my personal set to hold a special meaning for me and I think that nothing will be more meaningful then having attended mass at this beautiful landmark. Is there a Catholic bookstore or shop that someone recommends? I know that the cathedral itself will have a shop, but I am curious about other places. I have planned a visit to Pere La Chaise on Saturday. We would like to have lunch at Le (La - not sure) Boulangerie. Our visit will be early, is there a nice cafe nearby where we can sit and have a lite breakfast? This may be a non-question due to an abundance of cafes in Paris, but I am not sure about what's available in this area. We have decided to spend Sunday afternoon in the Marais. I don't know much about this area. Will it be a nice place to have lunch and do a little shopping? Will much be open on Sunday? Wow! It's almost here!!

Hi roundtowngirl, The restaurant at Musee d'Orsay is very pleasant but not in the "must eat here" catagory. The museum closes at 9.45pm on a Thursday. www.musee-orsay.fr/en/visits/welcome.htmlCan't help with the other points but we will also be in the Marais Sunday pm! I will be the one with the aligot weighing heavily on my mind ;D

There are several cafes right across from the cemetary entrance.
Let me look up the address of a Catholic store we went to.It's part of a church and convent in the 7th. Right now the name is escaping me!

Hi roundtowngirl, on the subject of the rosary beads, you can indeed purchase them from the ND shop which is just inside to the left. Hubby and I both decided to purchase ours from there for 2 reasons, 1) what a way to remember where it came from and 2) hoping that we could get it blessed. Ours cost approx 15 euros each and there is a good selection to choose from.

I went to that church last month, my aunt took me there so I could get some medals for my mother. It seems to be a pilgrimage destination. Its an ideal place to get a rosary.

roundtown girl,
I can't help with some of your questions, but I can say that the Marais is an excellent place to visit on Sunday - many great cafes. shopping, and al ot of places there are open Sunday. That's probably the best day to visit!

roundtowngirl: just in case you don't know this already, don't get out at the Pere Lachaise stop on the Metro, get off at the Gambetta, and enter the cemetery from the uphill side, so you can then walk downhill to the opposite entrance, and make the short walk to Pere Lachaise Metro after your visit. The place is much easier to see when you start at the top. There are also plenty of places around Gambetta to have breakfast. If you haven't looked at the Pere Lachaise website at www.pere-lachaise.com, you should definitely take a look. It's one of the best websites out there, IMO. Just keep in mind when you're looking at their virtual tour map that it's turned kinda funny, and won't look like it does on a map that reflects North at the top. Otherwise, it's an awesome place to preplan your journey and know ahead of time where some of the graves are you want to visit. Also, since seeing Impressionism is big on your agenda, I hope you'll save some time to go to the Orangerie. Now that it's open again, it's really a not-to-be-missed for Impressionist lovers.
