HELP!!

I have a problem. I have been searching for airfare. My son has points on Virgin Atlantic, where I could fly BOS to LHR first class for $329.08 rt. I would need to arrive at my apt a day later than planned, but I am sure I can fix that. My dilemna is that I would need to book seperately for London to Paris and back again. Air France flight rt is $185 but I can't seem to get a flight to London in time to catch my flight from LHR to BOS!!! The idea that I am saving around $500 for this hassle is worth it to me. Getting me to London in time for my 2:30 flight on Virgin is the problem. What about the train? Is that even a viable option?
I am using Expedia as my search engine. Any other suggestions, would be very much appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Tre

I would have thought Eurostar would be possible. Have you checked there?

Eurostar is what we plan to do , we decided to spend 3 days in London. we have BC FF itckets on BA MCO-LGW. Transferring to LHR from there is too much bother and we love London anyway.
Flying 1st for $300,00 would make me seriously consider LHR then into London and another 2 hours to Paris. At least you'd be on the move and not hanging around an airport or having to get into town from CDG,.Evenif you are a day late for your rental, you could see if you could change it or eat the cost. There are really early trains that would give you plenty of time to get to LHR for your departure.
I know people diss raileurope but I got RT tickets delivered ,2 people for $300.00 L/P, P/L. I prefer to have tickets in hand even if it costs a bit more..no waiting in line or pick ups or having them sent to your hotel then lost.

Thank you so much for your input! It does seem like an awful lot to me...and not sure it is really going to save me that much taking the train. Air France non-stop BOS - CDG arriving at 6:30 am...for $930.... is sounding like not such a bad deal right now. I mean, I would have to get into London from Heathrow and then where do I end up in Paris???

I think the train from Heathrow to London is fairly easy and inexpensive. The other thing to factor in, however, is the time that you are going to be putting into the part for getting from London to Paris - don't know how long your total trip is, but that's going to add an easy six hours to the experience by the time you land, clear UK customs, collect your bags, get the train into London, get to Waterloo (is this before they change the Eurostar departure to Kings Cross/St Pancras?) and then catch that train and get over to Paris. If you were staying a day or two in London it would make sense but you may be right that the $$ might not be worth the extra time and effort.

Yes, Becky, I think I have made my decision. This is feeling reminiscent of a trip I took with my son to Italy. He insisted on the BA business class in lieu of landing in Florence. We flew into Rome ... had to get to the Termini and take the train to Florence. It was a gruelling and exhausting day...which cost us a whole day to sleep before beginning our exploring. I think I learned my lesson!! AF coach - 6 1/2 hrs...and I am there in Paris at 6:30am... and I am sure I will sleep most of the way....It's done. Thank you all for helping me to come to this conclusion. I feel so much better now.

Wow! I didn't realise how influencing we were - lol.
Glad to hear you have made a decision. Now you can focus on all the wonderful things you'll be doing in Paris.
