I know this question has probably been asked and answered a zillion times but thought I would ask/post so newbies and those of us who have not taken RER from CDG would have clear answers.
1. Is the RER from CDG a separate price, meaning buying a specific ticket for RER? Price? 2. If so where do you buy? 3. Is entrance to RER clearly marked/indicated? 4. Is there a stop at every Terminal? 5. If not (stop) then how do you get to a Terminal where there is a stop 6. if 1 is Yes, then can you buy Metro tickets at CDG where you buy RER tickets so you can transfer to Metro once you arrive in Paris? or do you have to go out in the Metro station itself (once you arrive in city) and buy the tickets/passes?
LOL did I miss anything?!!
I have never used the RER to or from the airport but I know some with budget constraints may have little choice. Saving that money for ice cream.

Since no one else has jumped in here, I'll give it a shot! The RER from CDG isn't difficult to manage (provided you don't have a lot of luggage!). From your gate or baggage claim, just follow the arrows to the "Gare" (you will see the signs easily--they have a picture of a train, so they're easy to follow). In Terminal 2, it seems to be a bit of a jaunt from the gate we usually arrive at, but not too terribly far, especially since you're going to have that "I'm finally in Paris" burst of adrenaline! The signs will lead you to an escalator, and at the bottom on the left is a ticket office where you can purchase your ticket (8 or 9 €), then proceed thru the turnstiles and hop on! The train stops at Terminal 1 also. Your RER ticket is good on the metro for at least 1 transfer (last time we took the RER from CDG we had to transfer twice on the metro, and I don't recall having to buy another ticket). It might be a little intimidating if you're doing this the first time alone, but quite fun and adventurous if there are several of you together.
