Not much to say really, just wanted to assure you that it is quite easy.
The central number to Taxi Parisien is:
+33 (0)1 45 30 30 30
You no longer have to think of what company to call or worry about that the taxi turns up with 15 € on the meter, because he comes from the other end of town.
Then this answering machine will ask you to type the arrondissement you are in, two digits from 01-20.
Then you get a choice of the different taxi stations in your arrondissement, starting with (as I understood it) the one at the Mairie (cityhall of the arr.)
When you have chosen your station, you will be connected to a driver in the station or close area, and then you take it from there.
Remember that you pay for the taxi from the moment you have booked the taxi and he starts driving to pick you up, BUT this central number ensures that you get the closest taxi available.

Thanks Gitte -- it's been so long since I called one that I talked to a real live person (and was very proud of myself -- this was on my first trip to Paris -- for remembering the name of the day of the week that I was leaving!). I suppose that the reason they start listing the taxi stands is so that you can't complain about the charge on the meter if you chose one that was not the nearest!

We got our hotel to book us a taxi for the next morning, a bit of a mistake as there was a 10 euro charge added on to the clock when he arrived, will know next time to get it direct.

I second Sara's advice on G7.
A couple of trips ago, I called a taxi to go to CDG using the # in the apt info packet. When he hadn't arrived 30 mins after the pickup time, I remembered that I had the # for G7. Called them and the car was there in less than 10 mins!

We always use G7 and it never takes more than 10 minutes for a car to arrive. You will get a recording and you use the keypad to respond to the questions. The recording will even tell you the type of car and the color over the phone so you know what taxi to expect.

Unless I'm mistaken anytime you call a regular taxi , they charge from the time they leave whereever they were to get to your hotel or apt. I always have the hotel call for me, but since I'd never heard of G7 I checked it out. They have a seperate phone numbers for English speakers! Now that is real service ! www.taxisg7.com/

Thank you for the information for G7
On all of my previous visits to Paris I took a Taxi Parisien in from CDG.
On the way back out to CDG the hotel called for me.

Demarias, I have looked at this site a few times, and still haven't found the numbers for English speakers you mentioned. I'm probably blind....can you direct me?
