I'll be in Paris June30 - July4th (sat and wed will basically be travel days). Being there Sun - Tues, what are your thoughts on getting a museum pass? I was going to attempt the louvre sun but hearing how crazy crowded it gets, makes me rethink my plans. I'd like to duck in and out of some of the museums, not every single one (i'm ambitious but not crazy!) and see most major sites. Is it just easier to get the pass for 2 days or pay as I go? Just wanted to see your thoughts!!
Thanks!!

Hi Pharmjen. Although it may be cheaper to pay as you go for two days, the value of the museum pass, IMHO, is to avoid the long lines at the popular sites.

I agree with jcat. And, with only three days to enjoy the city, you don't want to be spending a lot of time in lines. So, while it may not pay for itself monetarily, it will in enjoyment of your short trip.

LOL I took full advantage of pass by going to museum during day and then to top of Arc in the evening. pass is good for Arc and it is open late. Beautiful view but very a sunset

Thanks for the insight - I agree about waiting in line. It's not worth it with so little time.
Thanks again!!

A follow up: Which 2 days would it be better to have? Sun and Mon or Mon and Tues?

I would prioritize which museums you really want to see, and figure out which ones would most likely have lines worth jumping( Louvre and Orsay come to mind) and then check which days they are closed. Most seem to be closed either monday or tuesday, so obviously I would choose the pass for sunday and monday and make sure the sights I want to visit on monday that are closed , I go on sunday to them..
